Thank you so much. I am considering Mexico City, but I know people who live there who have body guards and drivers when they leave their houses. I don’t want to come across as some sort of sheltered, ignorant person, but that shit is scary. And you know, visiting countries where people’s bodies are found all over the place on the reg isn’t exactly comforting… :( And I have some idea of what the big, bad world is like. I have done about 30 odd countries as a teenage girl travelling on my own, but I guess I’m older and more cynical now.

  1. craftyhippo said: oh, forgot to mention… there are lots of cops everywhere (with big ol’ shotguns) ready to pounce on baddies so I felt pretty safe. However, even Mexicans will say that you’ll get better Mexican food in LA than in Mexico City. I’m based in DC btw!
